If unlocking the potential of medical research data is your passion, you can learn the skills you need by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Informatics and a master’s in Bioinformatics through the IU School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI.
Biomedical informatics takes research data to the next level, where it can become a tool for improving lives through better health care. Bioinformatics analyzes how to apply biomedical data analysis to specialized fields such as genome biology and precision medicine.
With this accelerated 5-year degree you’ll be prepared to work in the biomedical and genome research industry. Whether you choose to forge a career in industry or academia, you’ll have the skills to pursue research and data analysis projects.
You’ll apply for the accelerated program in the sixth semester of your B.S. or when you have successfully completed your first five semesters—75 credit hours—with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher. The School of Informatics and Computing will waive all application fees.
Bachelor and master degrees are conferred independently.
