Biology B.S. + Bioinformatics M.S.

It's Not Too Late to Launch Your Future

Student applications for the 2020-21 school year will be accepted until August 14 via the ApplyIU platform only. Applicants who apply up through this date will have until August 18 to submit all needed transcripts and materials to be reviewed for the fall semester. We will also continue to award admission-based scholarships for those who meet the qualification criteria.

Forge a path where biology and technology converge

With a firm grounding in science, you can build tools that take biological data to new places. Bridge the gap between data and discovery by drawing on both biological, information and data science skills.

With specialized expertise in informatics, supported by a solid scientific background, you’ll have the expertise to turn facts into findings, analyzing data to reveal new knowledge in fields such as genomics and precision medicine. Get the skills to enter this exciting realm by earning a bachelor of science degree in biology from the IUPUI School of Science, and a master’s degree in bioinformatics from the IU School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI.

How it works

You’ll apply for the accelerated program in the sixth semester of your B.S. or when you have successfully completed your first five semesters—75 credit hours—with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher. The School of Informatics and Computing will waive all application fees.

Bachelor and master degrees are conferred independently.
