About: I am from Hammond, Indiana, and I am majoring in Media Arts and Science (MAS) with a specialization in Video Production. I chose the Media Arts and Science program for how diverse it is, and for the city, which gives me access to opportunities I wouldn’t have been able to find elsewhere.

MAS has given me experience in not just video production, but also game design, web development, and audio production. These experiences wouldn’t be available if my major was simply video production.

As for the city of Indianapolis, it is the heart and soul of our state. It has given me opportunities to work with amazing individuals and expand my skills in ways I never thought possible. In addition to serving as a Student Ambassador, I currently intern at IU Studios. There, I create video content that lives across the universities’ various social media channels.

Currently, I also serve as the Vice President for the Informatics and Computing Student Council at IUPUI. Additionally, I serve on the marketing committee for Jagathon, IUPUI’s signature dance marathon benefiting Riley Hospital for Children.

When I visited SOIC for the first time, what immediately stuck out to me was how passionate everyone was about not just their studies, but their future careers. The passion of our student body to succeed spoke to me. Speaking to students helped me to realize our school is unique, and I wanted to give prospective students the same experience I had several years ago. Being able to interact with a student and their family and find out what intrigues them the most is truly a rewarding experience and one that I am honored to be a part of.
