Why are you a mentor?

Having some sort of support during a college career is an essential step for success for many students. Being a mentor has given me insight into different struggles that students have. It has allowed me to gauge a variety of tactics to help students succeed and to improve my own academic habits.

What advice would you give an SoIC student?

There will be times where you might doubt the decisions you have made or dislike your classes but it is always important to remember that these are building blocks for your future career that will help you grow into the professional you will one day be.

Best resource on campus (or academic tool) you’d suggest to a mentee?

W3Schools is amazing when you forget the basics or need a boost with some of your coding skills.

Favorite books:

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and The Windup Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami.


Stay organized with your time through the use of a calendar. You can find slots of time to do homework or study between classes without leaving it all until the evening.
