Midwestern Conference on Health Games returns to IUPUI October 28; Call for abstracts in progress
May 3, 2011
IUPUI and the School of Informatics and Computing once again turn their attention towards the red-hot field of interactive health games – or serious games – with the second annual Midwestern Conference on Health Games scheduled for October 28 in Indianapolis.
Health games use popular gaming consoles, the web and mobile technologies as effective tools in healthcare and education to encourage healthy behaviors, prevent disease, improve overall care and drive down medical costs.
Conference organizers are currently accepting abstracts nationwide to be considered for conference presentation as part of this year’s program. Abstracts may include case studies, scientific research papers, panel discussions, lectures, posters or tutorials focusing on exer-gaming, health education, behavioral or cognitive gaming and much more. Learn full details and submit online at www.midwesthealthgames.org.
The Midwestern Conference on Health Games builds upon last fall’s inaugural event that attracted more than 100 researchers, educators, IT professionals and digital media experts from 12 states. 2011’s conference looks to spark similar collaborations, interdisciplinary learning and potential business enterprises and investments that would benefit the health games research environment and industry.
