Media Arts and Science Grad Creates Local Viral Video Sensation
April 17, 2014
Jordan Brown, a 2008 Media Arts and Science graduate, and his team are behind the latest viral video sensation, “Indy is Happy,” which has taken the internet by storm.
The video features individuals dancing around at local Indianapolis hotspots, city landmarks, and companies to Pharrell’s Happy. It has already amassed nearly 50,000 views on Youtube and has been retweeted close to 1,100 times on Twitter.
“Indy is Happy” integrates and features some of the elements that make Indianapolis a great place to visit, work, and live; highlighting the sights, sounds, and people. The video also includes local celebrity, Indianapolis Colts mascot, Blue, as he makes a cameo appearance.
“The song lends itself to high energy and fun, it makes you want to dance. You put that with the city of Indianapolis, which I think is a fun city, and people that love it, and you have the perfect ingredients for a viral video. There are thousands of “happy” videos being created all over the world, and Indianapolis is one of them,”said Brown.
After graduating from the School of Informatics and Computing, Brown joined MediaFuel working on website design and development, video production, animation and art direction and now serves as their creative director where his latest project was the “Indy is Happy” video and indyishappy.com website.
