2009 Capstone presentations lift-off this week
April 27, 2009
One of the most anticipated events on the IU School Informatics calendar is just around the corner, and you are invited to attend! On Friday, May 1, 4:00-8:00 P.M., five Media Arts and Science (MAS) graduate students will join 42 senior MAS undergraduates in presenting their Capstone projects.
The Capstone is the culmination of a student’s academic experience, and an opportunity to demonstrate competence in various aspects of digital storytelling. In some cases, a Capstone will demonstrate a student’s particular specialty. Most projects, however, require the application of several different kinds of digital storytelling experiences and expertise. All are the result of many, many hours of work in computer animation labs, at on-location video shoots, grasping the intricacies of databases, etc.
Students, faculty, staff, employers, families, and the public are invited to attend the Capstone presentations, and to talk with students about their projects ranging from video production to Web site development, 2 and 3-D animation, music, gaming and more.
On Thursday, April 30, 13 graduating students in the School’s Health Information Administration program will also present Capstone projects.
