All iDEW students can participate, but there are limited slots for each workshop.

Scrum Training

June 7-11
10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

What is agile? Students will be challenged to become familiar with the process and to understand why being Agile is essential. In this workshp iDEW students will be given the opportunity to sit for Scrum Master certification. This certification will assist students with project management skills. No prior experience necessary.

SoIC Game Design

June 7-11
1 - 4 p.m.

Do you have an idea for a gaming world that you want to bring to life? This is your chance to get a taste of what it’s like to be a begining game developer! In this workshop students will create a fully playable game using Unreal Engine. The game could have original 3-D levels complete with lands and buildings.

Code Black Indy A+ Certification

June 14-July 2
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Want to learn how computers work and how to repair them? Have dreams of building your own computer? This CompTia A+ certification workshop will teach essential skills needed for any traditional IT career.

NET+ Certification

June 7-11
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Want to learn how to confi gure, troubleshoot and oversee networks? This training will help build upon your IT knowledge. The CompTIA Net+ certifi cation training program will prepare you for a career as an IT networking professional.

Open to students who have taken the A+ Certification; are in the class of 2021, 2022, or 2023; or by teacher recommendation.

SoIC Creature & Character Design

June 14-18
1 - 4 p.m.

Do you love creatures and aliens; have a sketchbook full of original creations? You can bring them to life through technology! iDEW students learned to draw and create characters and how to use Spore.

Speaking College

June 21-25
1 - 3:30 p.m.

What makes you a leader? How do you brand yourself? The Speaking College Workshop taught iDEW students how to hone those skills as they began their journey to college or the IT fi eld. Students participated inbhands-on activities and culminated the week with a virtual Escape Room Challenge.

Code Black Indy Game Design

June 28-July 2
1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

You ever wanted to have your own game in the App Store or GooglePlay? Join us in using Uniity Game Development and building and launching your very own game! In this workshop you'll learn, from start to finish, what it takes to be the best game on the market.

Technology Requirements

It is recommended to have a computer, Chromebook, or tablet that can access a virtual platform similar to Zoom. Participants are required to access a virtual platform (for live sessions). The minimum participation requirement is a smartphone. Participants need to be able to view video via their smartphone to allow for minimum participation.

Program Stipend

Students who complete the 3 week NET+ Certification or Code Black Indy A+ Certification will qualify for up to $750 in stipends.
