Bridging the gap between data and discovery

To better understand and improve life, students in our master’s degree program learn to analyze biological data and apply the analytical skills and those analyses to pioneering research and industry challenges.

You’ll use computational tools and develop applications that bridge the gap between data and discovery—in areas such as natural water resources research and genome biology.

Indiana’s health care hub

The Indianapolis campus is Indiana’s health care hub, a center for technological innovations in health science, where our faculty are engaged in cutting-edge research.

Financial Aid

Full-time students receive scholarships ($9,000 non-resident and $2,000 resident) and hourly employment with research faculty.

Building on your knowledge in science and IT

Students are expected to have an introductory background in computing or biology. Our faculty will help you select courses that build on your experience and elevate your skills—integrating informatics, computer science, information systems, math, biology, and related areas.

Full-time or part-time studies

Full-time students can complete the 36-credit-hour program in two years. Part-time study options are available for domestic students. International students and students funded directly by the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in Indianapolis (in the form of an assistantship or fellowship) must complete the program in two years.
