The Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI has become a member of the iSchools Consortium, an international association of college schools dedicated to advancing the field of information worldwide.
“Joining the iSchools Consortium is a major achievement, which will help us gain visibility at the national and international levels,” said Executive Associate Dean Mathew J. Palakal.
Founded in 2005, the organization has a membership of 84 schools that spans five continents. The iSchools Consortium provides avenues for student recognition and faculty support, as well as a forum for discussing critical issues.
The iSchools Consortium accepts schools with substantial sponsored research activity, a research-oriented doctoral program, a respected academic reputation, and a commitment to progress in the information field.
